Giới thiệu

Chùa Điền, hay còn được biết đến với tên gọi chùa Serey Vongsa Kos Thmay hoặc chùa Serey Vongsa, là một đền thờ theo đạo Phật của cộng đồng Khmer, tọa lạc tại huyện Hòa Bình, tỉnh Bạc Liêu, miền Tây Nam bộ Việt Nam. Mặc dù chùa này có vẻ đơn giản và yên bình, nhưng vẫn thể hiện đặc điểm kiến trúc độc đáo thường thấy trong các ngôi chùa Khmer ở khu vực này. Chùa Serey Vongsa Kos Thmay, hay Chùa Điền, nằm tại ấp Vĩnh Thạnh, xã Vĩnh Hậu, huyện Hòa Bình, tỉnh Bạc Liêu.

Kiến trúc

Phật giáo nguyên thủy, hay còn gọi là Phật giáo Nam tông hoặc Phật giáo tiểu thừa, đóng vai trò quan trọng trong đời sống tinh thần và tâm linh của cộng đồng người Khmer ở miền Tây Nam bộ Việt Nam. Khắp các tỉnh thành của khu vực này, người ta dễ dàng bắt gặp những ngôi chùa với kiến trúc mang đậm nét đặc trưng của văn hóa Khmer, rải rác trên các con đường và trong các xóm làng. Những ngôi chùa thu hút sự chú ý của du khách bởi sự hòa quyện của hai tông màu đỏ cam và hồng sậm. Cổng chùa thường được trang trí bằng kiến trúc ba ngọn tháp đặc trưng của văn hóa Khmer.

Không gian trong chùa thường mang đến cảm giác nhỏ nhắn, bình dị và yên bình, là nơi lưu giữ những công trình cổ kính cùng những tác phẩm nghệ thuật mới. Trong sân chùa, tượng thần chim Krút – Garuda thường được trang trí, cùng với tượng Đức Phật Thích Ca tọa thiền.

Chùa Điền đặc biệt nổi bật với không gian tĩnh lặng, tạo điều kiện cho du khách không chỉ để tham quan mà còn để trải nghiệm cảm giác nhẹ nhàng và thư thái. Năm 2013, với sự đóng góp của thường quân và cộng đồng Phật tử, Trụ trì, A-Cha và Ban quản trị chùa Điền đã thành công trong việc mobilize gần 2 tỷ đồng để xây dựng Giảng đường Sala. Đây là một công trình kiến trúc lộng lẫy, phản ánh đẹp văn hóa truyền thống và bản sắc dân tộc, đồng thời cung cấp một không gian thuận lợi cho việc tịnh tâm, tu học và hành đạo theo nghi lễ thuần túy của Phật giáo, đồng thời phản ánh đúng tinh thần hành đạo “Đạo pháp – Dân tộc – Chủ nghĩa xã hội“.

Lễ hội

Hàng năm, cộng đồng người Khmer tại địa phương đến chùa Điền trong những dịp lễ hội như Chôl Chnăm Thmây, Sen Đôn-ta, Oóc-om-bóc… Đây là những sự kiện lễ hội lớn mà các chùa mở cửa đón tiếp phật tử. Các lễ vật được chuẩn bị kỹ lưỡng để đưa vào dâng chùa, và các nghi thức lễ bái được thực hiện một cách trang trọng. Sau đó, những trò chơi dân gian, các tiết mục văn nghệ, múa hát rộn ràng diễn ra tại sân chùa, phục vụ cho phần hội lễ.

Văn hóa tín ngưỡng và các nghi lễ của người Khmer thường được thể hiện rõ nhất trong những dịp lễ hội, và chùa là nơi quan trọng để họ sinh hoạt và giao lưu, giữ gìn những đặc điểm văn hóa độc đáo. Như tiến sĩ sử học Trần Thuận, giảng viên Trường Đại học Khoa học Xã hội và Nhân văn TP.HCM, mô tả: “Người dân Khmer coi chùa là nơi thiêng liêng nhất mà họ hướng tới với tất cả niềm tin sâu sắc của mình. Họ dành một phần lớn của cải gia đình cúng vào việc xây dựng và trùng tu ngôi chùa nơi họ sinh sống (các phum sóc). Nơi đó những người con trai Khmer từ 11 tuổi trở lên vào tu học một thời gian để trở thành người tốt giúp ích cho đời cũng như báo hiếu cho ông bà, cha mẹ… Mỗi tháng, người dân đến chùa 4 lần để lễ Phật, tụng kinh tu dưỡng đạo đức để mong được hưởng quả phúc. Người Khmer coi trọng ngôi chùa còn hơn cả ngôi nhà của mình…”.

Chùa Điền, also known as Serey Vongsa Kos Thmay or Serey Vongsa Pagoda, is a Khmer Buddhist temple located in Hòa Bình district, Bạc Liêu province, in the southwestern part of Vietnam. Despite its simple and tranquil appearance, the temple exhibits the unique architectural characteristics commonly found in Khmer temples in the Mekong Delta region.

Primitive Buddhism, also referred to as Southern Buddhism or Minor Vehicle Buddhism, plays a crucial role in the spiritual and cultural life of the Khmer community in the southwestern part of Vietnam. Throughout the provinces of this region, it is easy to encounter temples with distinctive Khmer architecture scattered along roads and in villages. These temples capture attention with their harmonious blend of orange and dark pink colors. The temple gates are adorned with characteristic three-tower Khmer architecture.

The temple’s interior exudes a sense of simplicity, modesty, and tranquility. The courtyard features a mix of ancient and contemporary structures, including the decorative statue of the Krút – Garuda deity and the seated meditation statue of Shakyamuni Buddha.

Chùa Điền stands out for its serene atmosphere, providing an ideal space for visitors not only to explore but also to experience a gentle and relaxing ambiance. In 2013, with contributions from devotees and the Buddhist community, the abbot, A-Cha, and the temple management successfully raised nearly 2 billion VND to construct the grand Sala Hall. This architectural masterpiece reflects the beauty of traditional cultural values and ethnic identity while offering a conducive space for meditation, study, and adherence to the pure rituals of Buddhism, aligning with the guiding principles of “Dharma – Nation – Socialism.”

Annually, the local Khmer community converges on Chùa Điền during festive occasions such as Chôl Chnăm Thmây, Sen Đôn-ta, Oóc-om-bóc… These grand festivals are occasions for temples to welcome Buddhist practitioners. Elaborate offerings are prepared and presented to the temple, followed by solemn ritual ceremonies. Subsequently, folk games, cultural performances, and lively music and dance unfold in the temple courtyard to entertain the festive crowd.

Le temple Điền, également connu sous le nom de Serey Vongsa Kos Thmay ou de pagode Serey Vongsa, est un temple bouddhiste khmer situé dans le district de Hòa Bình, dans la province de Bạc Liêu, dans le sud-ouest du Vietnam. Malgré son apparence simple et tranquille, le temple présente les caractéristiques architecturales uniques couramment observées dans les temples khmers de cette région du delta du Mékong.

Le bouddhisme primitif, également appelé bouddhisme du Sud ou bouddhisme mineur, joue un rôle crucial dans la vie spirituelle et culturelle de la communauté khmère du sud-ouest du Vietnam. À travers les provinces de cette région, il est facile de rencontrer des temples avec une architecture khmère distinctive dispersée le long des routes et dans les villages. Ces temples attirent l’attention par leur harmonie de couleurs orange et rose foncé. Les portes des temples sont ornées de l’architecture khmère caractéristique à trois tours.

L’intérieur du temple dégage une sensation de simplicité, de modestie et de tranquillité. La cour comprend un mélange de structures anciennes et contemporaines, notamment la statue décorative du dieu Krút – Garuda et la statue assise en méditation de Bouddha Shakyamuni.

Le temple Điền se distingue par son atmosphère sereine, offrant un espace idéal non seulement pour les visiteurs afin d’explorer, mais aussi pour vivre une ambiance douce et relaxante. En 2013, avec les contributions des dévots et de la communauté bouddhiste, l’abbé, A-Cha, et la direction du temple ont réussi à récolter près de 2 milliards de VND pour construire le grand hall Sala. Ce chef-d’œuvre architectural reflète la beauté des valeurs culturelles traditionnelles et de l’identité ethnique, tout en offrant un espace propice à la méditation, à l’étude et au respect des rituels purs du bouddhisme, conformément aux principes directeurs du “Dharma – Nation – Socialisme”.

Chaque année, la communauté khmère se rend au temple Điền lors de festivals tels que Chôl Chnăm Thmây, Sen Đôn-ta, Oóc-om-bóc… Ces grandes festivités sont l’occasion pour les temples d’accueillir les pratiquants bouddhistes. Des offrandes élaborées sont préparées et présentées au temple, suivies de cérémonies rituelles solennelles. Ensuite, des jeux populaires, des performances culturelles et des spectacles de musique et de danse animent la cour du temple pour divertir la foule festive.
