Name and Geographical Location
Dinh Dai Bai is located in Dai Bai Hamlet, Dai Thinh Commune, Me Linh District, Ha Noi City.

History and Figures
The communal house is dedicated to Cao Son and Quy Minh, who, according to legend, were two sons of Lac Long Quan and Au Co. They followed their mother Au Co into the mountains to open up new land and establish villages. Cao Son’s personal name was Nguyen Hien, and Quy Minh’s was Nguyen Sung. The two lived in the time of the 18th Hung King (Hung Due Vuong) and rendered meritorious service by helping the Hung king repeatedly defeat Thuc Phan.
Cao Son and Quy Minh are regarded as the two deities presiding over the left and right sides of the three peaks of Ba Vi (Tan Vien in the middle, Cao Son on the left, Quy Minh on the right). Later, they were conferred the rank of thuong dang phuc than, and King Dinh Tien Hoang granted them the titles Cao Son Linh Ung Dai Vuong and Quy Minh Linh Ung Dai Vuong.

The communal house was built during the Restored Le period and was renovated in the 9th year of Duy Tan (1915). In 1962, the rear sanctuary of the communal house was rebuilt. The current architectural scale is the result of restoration campaigns carried out in 1993 and 2006.

Architectural Landscape
The communal house faces south; in front is a pond, and to the left are the communal-house well and a large garden. The architectural structures include a three-bay great ceremonial hall with two side lean-tos and a two-bay rear sanctuary, forming a “Dinh”-shaped ground plan. Overall, the communal house is solidly built, with decorative details in the architectural style of the Nguyen period.

Relics
The communal house still preserves two stone steles, including one stele dated to the 3rd year of Canh Hung (1742) and one to the 26th year of Tu Duc (1873); one set of long ngai (dragon thrones); one palanquin set; one stand for ritual texts (gia van); one ceremonial curtain (y mon); one wooden incense altar; one pair of parallel couplets; and two horizontal inscription boards (hoanh phi), most of which stylistically date from the 19th century.

Classification
In 2011, Dinh Dai Bai was classified as a Municipal-level Historical and Cultural Relic.

Tous deux vécurent sous le règne du dix-huitième roi Hung (Hung Due Vuong) et aidèrent à maintes reprises le roi Hung à vaincre Thuc Phan.
