Ngày 20 tháng 9 năm Hồng Thuận thứ tư (1512), An vương Tuân qua đời, thọ 31 tuổi.
An vương Tuân lấy Trịnh Thị Chuyên, người xã Biện Thượng, làm vợ.

Background
Prince An Tuân was the eldest son of Emperor Lê Hiến Tông. His mother was a woman of the Mai family. He was born on the Canh Thìn day, the twenty-first day of the fifth lunar month in the thirteenth year of the Hồng Đức era (1482). Historical sources record that his mother carried him for eleven months before giving birth. On the very day he was born, the sky and earth suddenly darkened, accompanied by heavy rain and strong winds; the weather did not return to normal until the following morning.
From childhood, Prince An Tuân was described as intelligent, quick-witted, widely learned, and possessing physical strength far beyond that of ordinary people. However, alongside these qualities, he was also hot-tempered and displayed unusual behavior. Historical sources specifically record that he liked to wear girls’ clothing. When he was still young, on one occasion when things did not go according to his wishes, he attempted to poison his mother. This incident greatly displeased Emperor Lê Hiến Tông and even caused the emperor to develop feelings of aversion toward him.
Life
Although he was the eldest son, Prince An Tuân was not chosen by Lê Hiến Tông as his successor. The emperor passed over him in the order of succession and instead designated his third son, Thuần, as heir, who later became Emperor Lê Túc Tông. This decision placed Prince An in a particularly sensitive position with regard to the succession.
In the seventh year of the Cảnh Thống era (1504), Lê Hiến Tông died. At that time, Consort Cao wished to place Prince An Tuân on the throne, but the senior officials did not agree and instead installed Prince Thuần, namely Lê Túc Tông, as emperor. The fact that the eldest son was passed over for the throne while there were still those who advocated his accession made Prince An’s position even more politically sensitive.
After this event, Prince An harbored resentment, but he did not therefore turn to opposition. On the contrary, historical sources record that he devoted himself wholeheartedly to caring for his mother, visiting and attending to her morning and evening with great diligence. More notably, his temperament appears to have changed completely from that of his youth. The hot temper and extreme behavior previously associated with him are no longer mentioned; instead, he appears as a man who knew how to restrain himself and live according to proper rules of conduct.
During the reign of Lê Uy Mục, when many members of the imperial clan were suspected and killed by the emperor, Prince An Tuân was particularly conscious of his own circumstances. As the eldest son of Lê Hiến Tông, he held a high position within the royal family, and because he had previously been connected with the question of succession, he was even more likely to become an object of suspicion. He therefore did everything possible to keep a low profile and avoid becoming the focus of attention. As a result, while many members of the imperial clan met with disaster under Lê Uy Mục, Prince An managed to avoid persecution.
On the twentieth day of the ninth lunar month in the fourth year of the Hồng Thuận era (1512), Prince An Tuân died at the age of thirty-one. He was posthumously elevated as An Đại vương, returned for burial to his maternal homeland at Biện Hạ Commune, and enshrined as a phúc thần, or protective local deity.
After the Lê Restoration, the worship of Prince An became associated with numerous legends concerning miraculous manifestations. Historical records state that in times of danger, the deity secretly assisted government forces in suppressing the Mạc and recovering the capital. Because of these deeds believed to have been divinely manifested, he received repeated additional honors and was ultimately granted the lengthy honorific title: Chiêu cảm Linh ứng Phù quốc Hiển hưu Tế công Trợ thuận Quảng hóa Hoàng phu Hoằng đức Hậu trạch Đại vương.
The court also assigned attendants to sweep and maintain his shrine and established formal sacrificial rites in order to honor the miraculous manifestations attributed to the deity.
Family and Descendants
Prince An Tuân married Trịnh Thị Chuyên, a native of Biện Thượng Commune. In the third year of the Cảnh Thống era (1500), when she was twenty years old, she was married to him and became his consort. In the tenth lunar month of the Nhâm Thìn year (1532), she died. She was later posthumously granted the title Thanh Tiết quận phu nhân and the posthumous name Từ Hòa.
The couple had a son named Ky, born in the third lunar month of the second year of the Đoan Khánh era (1506). When he reached adulthood, Ky had little interest in fame, wealth, or official positions, preferring instead to drink wine, listen to music, and enjoy life among fields and gardens. During the Mạc period, although he belonged to a close branch of the Lê royal family, he was nevertheless not subjected to suspicion.
On the tenth day of the ninth lunar month in the second year of the Chính Trị era (1559), during the reign of Lê Anh Tông, Ky died at the age of fifty-five and was given the posthumous name Thuần Hậu.
Ky married the female singer Trịnh Thị Phì and had a son named Bật. In the year Ất Sửu, when Bật had just turned eighteen, he entered the service of Emperor Lê Anh Tông. Grand Preceptor Trịnh Kiểm recognized that Bật belonged to the imperial clan and appointed him Chánh đội trưởng. He later accompanied the army in campaigns against the enemy, rendered meritorious service, was granted the designation Dương Vũ Uy Dũng công thần, promoted to Vệ úy, and granted the title Văn Bật nam.
Bật died in the fourth lunar month of the twenty-first year of the Quang Hưng era (1598), at the age of fifty-one, and received the posthumous name Thuần Nghĩa.
Bật had a son named Xích. Historical sources describe Xích as courageous and strategically capable, broad-minded and generous in temperament, and deeply devoted to Buddhism. He served Prince Bình An Trịnh Tùng and Prince Thanh Trịnh Tráng, participated in military campaigns, and achieved distinction.
He later rose to the office of Dương Vũ Uy Dũng Tán trị công thần Tham đốc Thần Tứ vệ quân vụ sự and was granted the title Văn Tuấn hầu. Xích died in the sixth year of the Dương Hòa era (1640), at the age of seventy-three, and received the posthumous name Thuần Chính. Historical sources conclude by noting that from Xích onward, the descendants of this lineage became increasingly numerous.
Death and Worship
Prince An Tuân died at only thirty-one years of age, at a time when the Early Lê dynasty had just passed through major upheavals involving the throne and the imperial clan. After his death, he was returned to his maternal homeland for burial and enshrined as a phúc thần.
Unlike many other members of the royal family who were remembered primarily through noble titles or posthumous honors, the case of Prince An developed into a form of worship centered on his divine status. After the Lê Restoration, accounts of his miraculous manifestations in assisting the court against the Mạc became the basis for repeated posthumous honors, the assignment of attendants to serve his shrine, and the establishment of formal rituals of worship.

身世
An vương Tuân 是 Lê Hiến Tông 皇帝的长子,生母为 Mai 氏。
An vương Tuân
Chiêu cảm Linh ứng Phù quốc Hiển hưu Tế công Trợ thuận Quảng hóa Hoàng phu Hoằng đức Hậu trạch Đại vương。
An vương Tuân 娶 Biện Thượng 社人 Trịnh Thị Chuyên 为妻。
An vương Tuân
